NAkHEEL
Nakheel is one of Dubai’s leading developers. In 2001, it was separated from the Dubai World conglomerate and became a state-owned company under the control of the Dubai Government. In Arabic, “Nakheel” means “palm trees.”
Flagship projects:
-
Palm Jumeirah: A man-made island in the shape of a palm tree, consisting of a trunk, 16 leaves, and a crescent. The trunk is connected to the crescent by an underground 6-lane tunnel. This district is the leader in the emirate for the most expensive property transactions.
-
Jebel Ali: A bulk island next to the port of Jebel Ali. The project features residential and hotel complexes, marinas, amusement parks, and waterparks.
-
Deira Islands: A complex of four man-made islands near the Deira district in Dubai. The development includes residential and resort complexes, the world’s largest night market, shopping malls, and entertainment facilities.
-
The World: A unique artificial archipelago, a “copy” of the Earth located 4 km from Dubai’s coastline. Nakheel’s projects have expanded the coastline from 70 km in 2001 to over 370 km.
The total area of Nakheel’s projects exceeds 15,000 hectares, with housing accommodating over 30,000 residents.
In addition to residential complexes and communities, Nakheel’s portfolio includes 6 hotels and 19 shopping malls.
